Anyone have any experience with this? I have a 2017 GSXR 750 and my gear indicator is fluctuating between 2-3 and 3-4 and my speed fluctuates with the appropriate gear that is fluctuating. Suzuki says they’ve never heard of that….

    • I have a problem with my gear indicator getting confused too. It has no affect on the engine and the engine speed has no effect on the gear indicator. My bike’s not the same as yours but I bet the mechanism (fancy multi-contact switch) that reports the gear position to the ECU is probably the same. In my case the switch is the problem. I cleaned…[Read more]

    • Probably a little buildup on the contacts, The Haynes Manuals are a great source of info and instruction – I buy them for every bike I own. (keeps my money at home instead of the dealers)

ThunderStrom…the Singshot I have (GJ74A) is a 4 stroke, inline four and goes like snot. The year this one was built, Suzuki was limited to a maximum of 40 HP for a bike in the 250cc class. Prior to this they were cranking 45 HP from the factory. The photo I’m attempting will show the bike mounted on a cradle I built so I could mount it on my…[Read more]

@oldguy Hi Old Guy. I’m going to buy a new 2018 V-Strom 650 this week, but I won’t be able to ride it until April at the earliest. The weather here is very good for snowmobiles. But that’s not for me. This will be my second V-Strom 650. My old work horse (2007 V-Strom 650) has served me well and I’m not sure what to do with it. I will now…[Read more]

@babb Sorry, I don’t have any leads for you. But I couldn’t help being astonished that 250cc 4-cylinder bikes were produced. Is it a 2-stroke or a 4 -stroke? Please post a photo. Thanks.

  • @oldguy Hi Old Guy. It’s me “ThunderStrom”. The website identifies me Antal, which is correct because that’s my real name. Anyway, I hope you are well. It’s been really cold lately and I was wondering if you’ve managed to do a ride this month. Stay warm and ride carefully.

I have in my possession a ’93 Suzuki Slingshot. It’s a 250cc, inline 4, also know as a Bandit. Upon receiving it I began searching for info, manuals, and parts. I have not found any parts lists in Canada, or my neighbours in the U.S. I haven’t found anyone who has one or is even aware of them. There is all sorts of info on the 400’s, and I’ve…[Read more]
