Waiting for my new V-Strom 650 to arrive. In the meantime, I’m working on getting ready for the riding season. I started jogging again. Gotta lose a few pounds; my riding pant are bit too snug. Been looking at maps and picking out places I’ve never been to. Helmet, boots, jacket, gloves and pants are all cleaned, polished, weatherproofed, etc. Watched DVDs, You-tube videos and read books about motorcycle skills development. Bought some Grip-Buddies. Went to the motorcycle show in January. Thinking about signing up again for more motorcycle training courses. Been riding for more than 40 years but still am not (in my opinion) in) a good motorcycle rider. Anyone else out there itching to get riding again?

I live in Hawaii so there is no “season” per se…but you list some great ideas for those who have to prepare every year. My Strom is the only vehicle I own, so I ride every single day.

      • Being able to ride all year long would be like a dream come true for me. However, being forced to take my bike out of service every winter gives me an opportunity give it some TLC and perhaps build and add more farkles to it. I love working on it and doing a good job without worrying about how long it takes. If I lived in Hawaii, I’d need two bikes. One bike would be in service and the other bike would be for backup. I’m keeping my old V-Strom and haven’t decided what to do with it. When I finally do get my new V-Strom, I’ll have two of them. One old and one new.

    • I get my new bike on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018. The weather forecast is lots of rain. Onto every rider, a little rain must fall. Doesn’t matter much – keeping it clean is not important to me.

      • I picked up my new motorcycle today. I have photos that I tried to post but I couldn’t find the POST button. Everytime I added images to the entry, the POST button would disappear. When I removed the images, the POST button would re-appear. Please explain what’s happening. Thanks.
